"  you are what you eat! "

PHILOSOPHY & ETHOS

We produce and sell healthy nutritious foods and sparkling probiotic bevvies. To create food that will nourish the body and soul, we steer away from mass manufacturing, and provide handmade products that do not contain anything artificial or developed in a lab.  We never add preservatives, additives, stabilizers, emulsifiers or any other bullsh*t.

We only sell what we love, consume and use ourselves

We believe in bio-regional self sufficiency, and source ingredients both from our farm and others in our area.  By doing so, we support small businesses and nuture direct connections with farmers, meaning less food miles and more dollars in that farmers pocket. By doing this, we cut the middle men and know first hand the farming practices of our raw ingredients.

Growing your own food is an empowering act of resilience and fosters an intimate relationship with Mother Earth. By sharing and making available our experience, knowledge, techniques and tools, we help you become growers and producers yourself.

PACKAGING & WASTE

One of the biggest crises we face today is that of waste, we live in a liner economy where resources are extracted; then used to manufacture products, goods and its packaging; these are used by the consumer until they are discarded and disposed off as waste, ending up in landfills and our oceans.

We Gumnuts believe this needs to change.  We believe in a circular economy which is regenerative by design. It retains as much value as possible in products, parts and materials and aims to create a system that allows for not only the long life of a product, but its regeneration as well: optimal reuse, refurbishment, remanufacturing and recycling.

We have therefore developed a new business model, this puts recycling and minimal diversity in net packaging materials at the core of our product design. For bottling we work with the glass recycling industry to recover materials and give it new life in our packaging rather than manufacture new materials.

All our glass jars are completely re-usable after a simple domestic wash, and we encourage all customers to do so.

Instead of printing and pasting un-recyclable stickers and labels on our products, we either hang a tag that is made out of seed paper, or simply print on the glass itself . The seed paper can be directly sowed into soil in your balcony or backyard and will then turn it into a plant that will bear vegetables or flowers to your delight.

All of this makes our products, 100% waste and plastic free. So take a stand with us; vote with your rupees; and be the change you want to see.

"Food after all is life… Every time you eat, you can make a massive change. You can throw your weight behind ecosystems, behind diversity, behind farmers. Or you can throw your weight behind greed, behind super profits, behind ill health that is killing both this planet and its people. Make your choice. It’s easy"  - Vandana Shiva
